1950XTX Crossfire vs. 8800GTX

Whenever you have a similar choice between 2 GPUs and 1 GPU, always go for the latter, even if it means waiting a couple of months.

Your cards should still ahve pretty good retail value, sell them and get an 8800GTX

I'm likely gonna need 2 DX10 GPUs - not 1. That is the problem.

Like everyone else has said, your video cards aren't the problem. NWN2 has a borked engine. If people are saying they are having trouble with 8800GTXs in SLI, then there is something wrong. Wait until they fix the game unless you enjoy wasting another 1200 bucks on a single game.

Until the game is patched and the engine fixed, no video card is going to run well on it at high settings, not even G80/R600 in SLI/Crossfire.

WOW. Just checked NWn2 forums and there are finally two posts from 8800GTX owners saying they didn't get much improvement. Actually my rig seems to be outperforming their's.

Until today there werent really any 8800GTX posts and most figured game engine wasn't truly broken - just inefficient. So if you throw enough horsepower at it it will eventually work. Seems like the more horsepower you throw the more inefficient it gets lol.

My bad - guess I really have jumped the gun here and just need to wait. Maybe game will die and I'll have to play something else.

If you want to upgrade that's fine, but I definitely would not recommend upgrading just for this particular game. The NWN2 engine is garbage and seems to have no consistency as to what the actual problem is.
