LOL i agree with the above post about how the top players just dominate the living hell out of anyone new,i made the mistake of attempting to play UT3 online and wow,all the hopping and jumping and skipping would get me no where with non stop 1 shot kills from sniple rifles.:|

The maps that had vehicles like vehicle capture the flag ,you spawn and splat,enemy scorpion roadkill lol.

I agree with Gryz that the floaty-dodgey movement hurt the game for "on foot" games like Deathmatch, CTF, and the otherwise promising Bombing Run (which I bet would have been a smash hit if it were standard in UT99). However, UT 2004 was not all bad. As a hard-core UT99 fan I had great trepidation about UT 2004, too, but I bought it for $5 and was pleased to discover that I really enjoyed Onslaught. UT 2004 is a good game--but only because of Onslaught. (The Invasion-RPG mod is fun too, but the RPG part and "persistent stats" servers are not Epic's doing.) The floaty-dodgey movement works OK when you have vehicles.

I would hope that for a UT4, if one is ever produced (not holding my breath) that they replicate the UT99 movement and the UT 2004 movement and allow server admins to pick which style they want (let the free market decide what's better for which game type). However, if Epic were to produce a UT4, I don't have any confidence that they would produce a decent product.
