1999 Jaguar XJ8 Accelerator Q

So I have this car that I absolutely love, the car is amazing and just looks and drive great (for the most part).

My only problem is I feel like I have to push the accelerator almost a quarter of the way in to get any response from the engine. I can floor the thing that the acceleration isn't much, I feel like something can be adjusted, but maybe I am wrong.

The car went through to a Jag dealership and they made some repairs that were needed and did a full vehicle inspection.

Is there something to solve my problem? Is it called a play in the pedal? If it can't be fixed I'm not too worried about it, however, if it can that would be awesome.

that "Jaguar" is a Ford- luckily they have sold off Land Rover and Jaguar to people who will make good cars. Now that being said, get a real mechanic to look at it and not some dorks on the internet!

Scan the car for codes, see if the oxygen sensors or MAF is busted

The oxygen sensor is actually broke, and on my list to get replaced. It's the reason my check engine light came on. Could the sensor really be causing what I'm talking about?
