Does the nano play video's?

I'm sure you can get Minis through Apple's reseller partners, but Apple currently only sells Shuffles, Nanos, and Videos through their online store. HOWEVER, Apple has a refurbished section of their store that occasionally has them.

As far as videos go, no, unfortunately not. Besides, the screen is like the size of my thumb, who would want to watch movies on it? Apparently some people do...you can dual boot Linux on the Nano and watch videos from there. Gizmodo had some info on playing videos with Podzilla, part of the iPodLinux Project.

Sweet! That's perfect!

Thanks op!

Yeah for listening to the same stuff over and over again...I thought 4gigs would be enough for me and for a long time it was however I think I have like 50 megs to go now.... If you only want 1gb in a player I'd suggest something with a flash drive instead of the nano.

The nano IS flash based iirc.

Correct - one of the highly marketed improvements over the Mini.

As I posted in the GH thread - the best part of this is the effect it has on the Shuffle prices.

- M4H

That is a huge improvement. However still many other flash based players can be had for much less now considering the steep fall in high performance CF/SD card prices this past week. The Shuffle is nothing special considering it has absolutely no for of display and the battery life is pitiful for something that small. The Nano is definetly the better deal, I guess I'll wait till the prices on the 4gig one start falling or something.

this is the same price as retail i dont see how its a hotdeal, plus if you live in a state that apple operates you get banged heavily on tax.

It's a hot deal because (1) it's new and (2) it's cheaper than the other Nano models.

Yea, shipping should be fast. I ordered an engraved Nano around Christmastime. It shipped directly from China (apparently where they're manufactured) for FREE and FAST. Door to door in four days with tracking.

Mine is showing estimated delivery of Feb 17. Ordered twelve hours ago. So much for Valentine's day gift.

Sweet! I ordered two with the educational discount this morning... and they've already shipped! My order confirmation email originally stated that they wouldn't ship until the 10th.

Mine says ship date is Feb 8th (with engraving) and delivery date estimate is Feb 13th, although FedEx says estimated delivery is the 10th. I can only hope and pray...

Check out the InvisibleShield. Here's a movie of it in action. Basically a $20 clear wrap for your iPod that prevents it from getting scratched. From what I've read, the Nanos are especially prone to scratching.

Another video from a user with a Video iPod. Apparently the black Nano models are especially prone to scratching.

My 1GB Nano should be here today. Now I just have to wait for my Pioneer adapter to get here so I can hook it up to my car (the main reason I purchased it).

Mine arrived the other day and I unpacked it today. Pretty cool! One scratch on the back already, just from doing nothing. I'm going to apply the invisibleSHIELD tomorrow because it needs 24 hours to dry and because I want to give it to my wife today. The Nano dock I got from Circuit City doesn't work, XP gives me a "USB device not recognized", but since I already trashed the box and put the dock in the gift bag, I think I'm out of luck for returning it. Bummer. I also got a pink armband for exercising and an iTunes gift certificate. Wish me luck:

Nano got here in time for V-day. My wife is happy with the 1gb, but I would definitely want more. It really only holds 890mb of songs.
