Heres what I got from Dell:

Dear Valued Customer,
We have reviewed your order. Although we had anticipated being able to ship your order sooner, we are experiencing an unexpected delay with your order 3XXXXXXX1 and will not be able to ship this order and any associated orders until on or before 05-17-2005.

I ordered pretty early after the deal was posted, so aparently there is a tier of delivery times probably based on order time. so far people have posted updated estimated delivery times of:

04-29-2005 (mine)

05-02-2005 (Kiyi)

05-17-2005 (Jeffs99)

I emailed Dell customer service and got them to waive my shipping charges plus upgrade my shipping method to next business day shipping. Awesome

I just got them to give me a $75 coupon towards a $75+ purchase at Dell Home. Harrrr. This is getting better and better. By the time these things ship, maybe I'll have them free!
I definitely suggest those of you still waiting to fire customer care and email, and in the least, get your shipping waived. Maybe you'll get the $75 coupon too. Worth a shot.

I called and complained. Got my shipping costs waived and upgraded to express overnight delivery.

I suggest everyone do the same.

I got an email saying its been delayed till may 5 yesterday. It was supposed to ship 4/22 , then 4/29, now 5/05. I emailed them about this
But I didnt get any upgraded shipping or anything.

This 1GB memory stick was the first order I ever made from Dell. Although I'm really ticked off that they have delayed my order twice, I must say that Dell has awesome customer service. Here's why:

1. After the 1st delay, I emailed them and they waived the shipping costs.
2. After the 2nd delay, I emailed them and they gave me a $75 coupon off any order of at least $75.01.
3. They also said, "as a customer care courtesy, once you receive your order number please get back to me and I would refund you $30.00."

They are definitely building customer loyalty with me.

I just hope that when my memory stick finally arrives, that it doesn't have any dead pixels or anything.

Delayed again from 5/02 to 5/09. I don't think I'll email them because I'm lazy at the moment, but if it gets delayed again, I'll try to chisel away at my price again.

Not sure I understand that part. Everyone who ordered should have their order number by now. You don't have an order number??

Dell says not shipping until June, they didnt give me a coupon or anything but worthless overnight shipping. I dont care how they ship it!

why cant sony get their s#it together, i think there were similar memory car shortages after the ps2 launch as well.

My order got delayed from 4/25 to 5/2 and now I just checked and it's 5/9. Unfortunately, nobody seems to have any in stock. I wouldn't mind paying more just to get the card already!

I don't think it will be delayed until June. If my pro duo memory stick could arrive from Mwave in a timely fashion, I would assume that Dell, with their financial weight, would be able to scrap up a couple memory sticks to send to those of us waiting.
