Here's the scenario:
- 2x512MB OCZ EL Platinum Revision 2 DDR400 Memory (2-2-2-5) $169
- 2x1024MB OCZ Performance Memory DDR400 (3-3-3-7) $215
Money is not the concern here. The problem is that the 2GB memory is much slower than the 1GB. And I'm most likely gonna be overclocking to around DDR520 speeds. I know the Platinum can run that 1:1, but not sure about the other one. I may have to put a divider and run it at 5:4, which would be DDR416, technically.
Is the performance gain of double the memory, evened out by the speed of the Platinum sticks?
