how can you check how much vram your card is using?

MSI afterburner is a great tool, I pair it up with my Logitech G15 keyboard (LCD screen) so I can tell my gpu usage, temps, and memory usage while in game.

If you are considering a 560 Ti, 6950, or better, and are going to keep awhile (can I assume you got your GTX 275 while it was still fairly current?), there would be no harm in getting 2GB.

Actually it was a 896MiB GTX260 when it was brand new, but when my power supply exploded and murdered my video card and motherboard (and was the catalyst for me upgrading to Sandy Bridge... imagine running WoW on a P4 2.66B + 9800 Pro for three weeks while I waited for the chip to be released!) EVGA RMA'd me a GTX275 for it. I do like to plan ahead, and am happy paying more now so I am satisfied for that extra year or two.

So far the arguments are strongly in favor of video cards with 2GiB of video memory. Seems it might be worth waiting till the next refresh to update this, maybe then more of the midrange cards will have more RAM, as right now I can only find one GTX560 with more than the default 1 gig.

-after getting the two 570's up and running [@1920x1200],doing a heaven benchmark noticed close to 1180mb vram ,ran metro 2033 bench only 980 mb , reloaded the metro 2033 game from steam ,maxed settings ,played 20 min. with vram at the 1275mb of 1280 wall ,deem the cards 1280 vram crap after 1k. and put in for the 580 evga's stepup,[still waiting]]
