None in Kentucky or in the district that covers it.... However, their screen did show that they would have been $29 had any been in stock.

I picked one up today at the Palm Beach Gardens, FL OM. The guy there said someone called about it already, and he said there were none left.

I called today and he told me that, but I made him go look anyway. Lo and behold, he found one. $29.00 plus tax = $30.74.

Sorry to the AT'er who called there. I hate to steal another person's find, but I didn't know who you were =)

Dewd, thats a lot of time that you wasted, approx 1 hour each way and probably half hour there. I dont know how much do you get paid, but for 2.5 hours of my time, I could buy an 80gb 7200rpm drive plus shipping plus tax

None to be found in the Central Illinois area. Guy said the price was indeed 29.99 but none in stock. Too bad for me.

Anyone want to sell? My IBM drive is making sounds of death. I'd like to get a replacement while I can still access (parts of) it.

Help me out!

Aren't you special. I realize your point, but some people (I'm included) like the hunt as much as the deal itself.

How much could you have bought in the time it took you to type that post?

Good deal btw, gonna go see what I can find. Let's see 10 minutes each way, plus 10 minutes in the store and I make $4.25 an hour. So I could either take a chance and check officemax or go buy a happy meal. What do you guys think?

Hank

pfft... youngster.....

My first hard drive, a 20MB (yes, that's megabyte) HyperDrive for an original Mac (with a whopping 128KB of mem!) cost me $1,750. Doing the math, that's $87.50 per MB, or $87,500 per GB.

Compared to the 120GB drive that I just bought for $62 after MIR & PM, thanks to AT!!!!!, I'm thinking I might have overpaid a tad...

Please post the link for that deal, i wanna get in on it

That would be me. Bright and early this morning (didn't realize they open at 7:00 am!) I bought two for myself and the others for co-workers.

The mgr that rang me up told me that they had around fifty of these drives in stock two weeks ago, but "the word must have gotten out". (AT Effect???) He also told me that the drives were being clearanced because WD had come out with a 30.7 GB version of the same drive (???)

maybe a waste of time to some, but this was a perfect gift for someone that needed a small/cheap hdd. the 59 miles (x2) i drove, 5 gallons of fuel i've used, and flipping off some crazy arse driver was worth the $30 deal. i could've bought something else online or from a nearby store, but i couldn't wait and i didn't need a large hdd. $30 for a 30gb hdd was too good to pass up.
as for how much i get paid, it's $18+/hour. i got this on saturday and because i don't work weekends, it isn't a waste of my time.
woohoo. 3 posts!!!
