I got everyone beat on this deal. I got 2 of them and this is the great part. I got my drives at $14 each. This is how. I think everyone forgot that OM accepts competitor's coupons. I had two $15 off $30 from Staples. I told the cashier to ring it up seperately and she accepted the coupons by verifying it with the manager. I just payed $28 for 60 gigs. Woo Hoo!!!

Let me add that those coupons were printed from my computer.

I just called officemax and they told me that this is a clearance product and there is none in stock at their stores. Is there still a chance the stores will have these in the back? Im in the Hialeah/Miami, FL area. Thanks.

I went to an Office Max today just on the way off chance there was still one available... the guy checked the system and it showed ONE more left in the area and it was at a store 5 minutes away.. he called em up to verify and then told em I was on the way. I scored!

mystuffs...I got lucky...I called the OM by my house on West 50. I gave them the SKU # and the lady looked it up and said none at that store...but she said let me check the other stores for ya. Voila the Altamonte Store had 2. I called them and got a very nice guy named Shaun who looked and looked and looked and finally came back and said...found them...but the boxes are open, do you still want them...I said yessir and drove there after work. Shaun was so nice, when I got there he had the drives to the side with my name on them and then he shook my hand when I left. Great experience!!!

You ARE lucky!!! I spend thirty minutes in the Altamonte OM that morning, the manager and another guy looked in the store room, said all gone. Then I found the same deal your girl on US 50 found , and I called back, and the manager was said " we don't have them, I don't care what the computer says". Pisses me off in a big way that they didn't really look though, just kind of glanced around the store room.

Just my luck. I was coming to Orlando next month just for those drives... Guess I'll just have to visit Mickey instead. Know of any Hotel deals in the area?

Well, I went to my local Office Max in Colorado Springs to see. None on clearance rack, so I asked someone to check in the computer. He checks and it shows one in the computer! He says it must be on the clearance rack, but it wasn't. He asked another dude and he was an a$$ and said they don't make those anymore. I got pissed and told him to get off his lazy butt and check in the back. He REFUSES telling me there are no more! I asked the other dude to check the other 2 stores in the springs, and another store shows one. I call and this one is supposedly "defective". Somebody is probably holding in the back until they get paid on friday so he told his co workers "tell em it's defective!"

Went to the OfficeMax near my apartment, none there, went to one near the mall, and I left with 4 30 gig hds for $120. Thanx so much heh. Got one for friend, another for my bro, and gonna use the other 2 for my Raid setup in my current comp which is overkilled with a 60 gig and 40 gig in it already.

I went in and found the display for the HD, took the tag up to the counter and asked for a price check (the price tag said $99). She ran the price check and said that it was $30 and I nearly pissed my pants. I was giddy. So she called to the back and, 10 minutes later -- damn! they didn't have any. The lady was very nice and called two other stores in the area to see if they had any, but they didn't. Oh well.

omfg people are so greddy....I called one Miami store and they said another store had 1 in stock. So I called that store and the guy sounded weird and said "Hrmm 30gb harddrive $29.99....let me see if we have any." He put me on hold and then came back with some "No we dont have any of those" line. Then I called yet again another store and they said the store I had called previously has 2 in stock. So I called back to the other store, gave the SKU, and guess what? They didnt have any in stock! <sarcasm> What a surprise! </sarcasm> Anyways, I asked him if he could look in the back to see if there was any there then he just simply said "No there isnt any". Can you say BS?

In all fairness to the stores that you call and they say that another store has them...the guy at one of the stores said that the computers don't update but every couple of days. So that might be why you call and they say that another store has them..but in reality they don't.

Where did you get the last two in Orlando? I tried all over town this morning, and was told that Altamonte had two. Went there at 9 and they said all gone...good job! Duh, now I get it...you work at the Altamonte store!!!

I suggest that people do not call in to Office Max and tell them how an item is practically being given away. Hell if I worked there and someone over phone asked "Do yall have any of the 30 gig WD drives for $30... I hear they are registering that way across the nation." I'd look for the 10 locked up in the backroom, price check, and reply with either "Nope, no such item here sir." or "I don't know what you are talking about." or "All sold out." I'd then hang up the phone and proceed to do my happy leprechaun dance and chug my $300 paycheck on all the hd's and sell them on ebay individually and make $20 extra each drive.

dude told everybody on the first page that this has been on clearance a long time (it has--i have a ticket from four months back--was $119.00) and not to bother calling because one won't know if they are in stock. guy told me TODAY, "o we don't carry those anymore", went in back and said, "yep, you're in luck, we got one" [no, he didn't know the price ]
don't be mad, people who are messing up their deals (and everybody else's in the area)
learn from it and move on...
