This will include all utilities. Is this a good price?
How much do you people who have similar size homes pay for all your utilities?

Im guessing its like an HOA. Im the summer if youve got the AC constantly blasting its a decent value, otherwise electricity/water/garbage/gas is maybe $100 a month.

HA! Be lucky you don't live in phoenix. Our apartment A/C bill is 150-190 a month in the summer.

What else does it include? Do they have a nice pool, pay for common area upkeep, pay for plumbing or electrical work, does it cover roof replacement?

How much is the rent?

$485 doesn't sound bad if it includes all utilities though.

Try $350-450 for gas/electric in the winter up here

Need more info. For this area doesn't sound super high but sounds high.

What amenities are there? Does this include cable?

I would assume for condo:

--utilities
--elevator maintenance
--general building upkeep

things like that. condo fees are typically higher than HOA, if I'm not mistaken, b/c of the cost to the building.

Does your building have a pool? Gym? any other amenities that would likely be part of the fee?

Parking space included?

Last condo I lived in (3/3 1,500 s/f) cost me $350/month is fees and that didn't include any utilities.

It all depends on where you live. For instance, in the town I'm in now condo fees are really low, I mean dirt cheap. One place I checked into was $25/month for a brand new, 3-story 4/3 with 2 car garage.

Yeah, but you pay $0-20 in the winter.

The high tomorrow in Phoenix is 81, it will hit 90 by the end of the week - it's mid March. These people use AC pretty much continuously. Also, the desert can cool off fast at night, in the winter there they drop into the 30s nightly so you have to kick the heat on.

if it's like a HOA thing they're not covering your electricity bill. GF lives in a Condo with one and her electric bill is super high.

We pay almost $600/mo year-round in oil alone, just to heat through the winter and for hot water/etc in the summer. $200/mo is nothing. STFU.

Untrue. My SRP bill for the past 3 months has been 85 a month

Condo fee is also known as "maintenance" or "HOA fees", basically the charge the building passes on to the owners for upkeep of the property.

In south Florida - $485 isn't bad. Add that to the likely $1000 mortgage and you have a decent place to live.

It all depends on what it pays for - if its a crappy filthy building where nothing gets fixed - then yes thats a shit ton too much money. But if its a skyscraper building and you get a pool and a doorman and a nice balcony and an exercise room than maybe its worth it.

For a downtown metro area that sounds pretty reasonable (25c / sqft). I'm assuming pool, hot tub, sauna, gym, party room and concierge service.
