A Asian fellow(or it could be a Asian gal)has got there 2.2GHz Northwood to hit 3GHz aircooled(here's the link). Saddly the only benchs they ran were SuperPi, Sandra and CPUmark99. I can't wait to get my hands on a sub 2GHz Northwoods and do some overclocking, 3GHz air cooled wouldn't be to bad.

Good lord, even if stability is a bit flaky it still speaks volumes about the overclocking monster that is the Pentium4.

That must also be an engineering sample. They were able to bump it from a multiplier of 19 to 20. Retail CPU's will be multiplier locked. It's still an impressive overclock. Looks like their using an ASUS P4S333 and DDR333...SiS sweetness!

Star is right. Its probably an engineering sample.

Besides, until the reviewers we all know start testing these suckers, I'm not setting down a penny.

i dont think its an engineering sample, customized turbo pll chips are widespread among these japanese overclockers, with this chip they can set whatever multi and fsb they want.

<< They're crazy.... If this benchmark is true, it seems that AMD is losing his crown... :< >>

Thoroughbreds will win it back. In terms of non-overclocked performance, the Athlon is still king--especially for real world performance. I hate that godawful 20 stage pipe-line in the P4. Intel's engineering department is run by marketing monkeys.

I take offense to that. We have plenty of Intel engineers running around. Stupid comments like this one from you do offend these people. Grow up.

All you do is win a game and then count how many seconds it takes for the cards to roll off the decks. Heheh.

It works well for me.
