2.4c o/c - video corruption problem

Hi everyone-
I've got a Abit IS7 with a 2.4C and a Zalman 7000cu
two DIMM's of OCZ PC4000
a 74GB Raptor and a CONNECT3D ATI RADEON 9600 128MB DDR.

OK.. so here's the thing. I pushed the FSB up to 250 and locked the PCI/AGP buses to 33/66. Prime 95, Sandra burn-in etc.. temps were fine.
Everything seemed cool.

However, I'm getting corruption in both Direct3D and OpenGL apps. Both 3DS Max and games.
Dropping the FSB back to normal fixes the video.

Any ideas? I figured with the locked AGP bus, the video card wouldn't know the difference.

Look at and not necessarily in this order...

1) Heat of the NB chipset

2) Heat on the vid card from warm case temps....Maybe open case and placea large fan blowing onto the vid card/ NB chipset area...

NO Ocing of the vid card, right??? Somtimes those cheaper ati subsitute models use crappier ram that may not like the heat....Why spend top dollar on someof the components like the new raptor and then not spend 30-40 dallars to get the real ATI model??

3) System ram....Reduce timings and ratio..basically try to run lower and slower at 250fsb and see if it is fine...

4) Bios...make sure you are running a newer bios as many have added some advancements to help system at above 250fsb...It is funny the wall of trouble is starting at the quite common place as 250fsb...

5) power....

Of all of those, I'm leaning toward the BIOS, just because it's the same when it first boots and under load, no time to get too hot.

and ya the graphics card is running at normal speed.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks.

You may get video corruption if your memory is overclocked too high. Leave FSB the same and set memory ration to 5:4 see if it fixes the problem. If it does but you still want to run at 1:1 losen up timings - see if that helps.
