I pulled out the HDD from an expired Mac PowerBook. The driver still verified prior to the mainboard failing. The drive is a Seagate Momentus ST9160821A.
Anyway, I decided to buy an inexpensive drive case from Geeks.com:

There might not be anything to worry about, but I'm not sure how the drive mounts in any external drive case. Two mounting screws on the bottom, at the plug end?
The drive currently has a thin metal cover wrapped around the end of the drive, opposite the plug side. It covers the top of the Seagate label, actually. Does this need to be removed? Maybe it's necessary when installed in a PowerBook? Or should I leave it alone?
Thanks!
