2.6 celeron, so what RAM?

2nd that. 1700+ kicks. I got an inexpensive nforce 2 board (8RDA+), a 1700+ tbredB, and two sticks of Crucial PC2100. Running it at 12.5x166=2083. (Yea, I got some impressive Crucial here). 2600+ on the cheap

Its probqbably the POS PCHIPS motherboard dying rather than the chip either way AMD would be a WAY better investment....

maXroOt, you might have a dying power supply too, and even if it's healthy, does it have the auxiliary 4-pin power plug that the Pentium4/Celeron4 boards need? My advice is to also budget at least enough money for a new Sparkle Power 300W power supply, which you can get for around $30 at Newegg.com. 350W is preferable IMHO for some extra cushion in case you start to deck your system out with an upper-end video card and so forth. Just make sure you buy a quality brand such as Sparkle Power, Antec or Enermax and not a scummy off-brand one.

You might also try doinking the voltage on your RAM to 2.6V if you haven't already. Good luck with your new stuff.

I'd say if you're getting a PSU, the Allied 400W is probably a tad better than the Sparkle 300W at a similar cost.
