I went to the Fry's at Fountain Valley, CA and I saw that ALL the ECS L4VXA2 mobos were returns...

ECS sucks! If you buy the combo , throw the mobo up on ebay and get yourself a better one. This I determined from a bad experience Good thinf is Fry's has a 1 year warranty on the cpu but they claim to have a 2 week warranty on the mobo

yeah, the ecs motherboards are iffy at best.

i bought the p4 2.4 and ECS motherboard combo awhile back, and it works great.
just bought my gd the XP 2200 and ECS motherboard combo and the MB crapped out.

neither were returns...so id be weary about any returned item boxes. but you never know what you're gonna get. so far my 50% success rate isnt great..but not so bad either.

hey with the price, you can't really complain. think of the motherboard as a lottery ticket, you either win or lose.

i got this combo works pretty good, i dunno but about the mobo, i haven't tried any other p4 mobo's but this thing is pretty decent has bus speed control in the bios, not like the older p4 combo fry's had that was all jumpered. and i managed to overclock my p4 to 3.0 with old pc2100 ram, i'm not too sure if my ram was the limit of the cpu, cuz i don't like upping the voltage (also a bios option for both ram and cpu) so i didn't mess with it more then that.

Not sure about you guys but my ECS and the 2000+ is working fine. You can get the unofficial BIOS to overclock it a little. But as for the P4 combo, buy it for the chip. It's a C1 for sure.
