Retail Box 2.6C SL6WH
FPO/Batch: 7321A412
Pack Date: 06/24/2003
Philippines

I received this 2.6C early today from NewEgg, and immediately threw it in my IC7-G to dial it in with Memtest86. I find this saves me alot of headaches since 8 times out of 10, if the OC passes 5 loops of all Memtests, (C-1-2-2-3-0 spacebar) it will be stable in Windows. I will continue stability testing with P95 and UT demo looping for a couple of days and post further benchmarks as completed...

Not bad for PC2700 BH-6 and PC3200 BH-5 512MB Kingston ValueRAM sticks in dual channel huh?

Anyway, it took only 1.60v VCore to get the following: (Radeon 9800 Pro NOT OC'ed)

CPU-Z

CPU-Z Memory

3DMark2001

3DMark03

PCMark2002

PiFast

Wow! And only using slower Kingston ValueRAM too!

Gives me hope. The only thing holding me back from getting a P4 instead of an AMD is memory. I always thought you needed those expensive low latency PC3500+ OCZ, Corsair, Kingston sticks because of the FSB inscrease.

WobbleWobble It is hard to find, but if you can find Kingston ValueRAM with Winbond BH-6 or BH-5 chips... PM me right away... J/K Seriously, if you find them, grab them. Every 512MB stick that I had was a winner.

EDIT: These 2 512MB sticks will run Memtest86 till the cows come home with no errors @ 1:1 / 460MHz / Street Racer timings. :Q

I see a lot of Kingston sticks with Samsung, Infineon and Mosel chips available locally, but I'm going to assume they're not as good.

Carefully. I have a Kingston BH-5 512 MB stick, and Buffalo BH-5 512 MB stick. They do not work in dual channel together and neither goes very far above 400 MHz, irrespective of timings. I also received CH-5 Kingston 512 MB and that one could not even reach 400 MHz in three different AMD boards.

From a thread at Overclockers.com:

1st letter or digit=plant code
0=San Jose,Costa Rica
3=..............,Costa Rica
1=Cavite,Philippines
R=Manila,Philippines
7=..........,Philippines
9=Penang,Malaysia
Q=...........,Malaysia
L=............,Malaysia
8=Leixlip,Ireland
Y=Leixlip,Ireland
6=Chandler,Arizona

Example:L149A463-0726

L=plant (Malay)

2nd digit=Year of production (2001)

3rd & 4th digits=week (49th week )

(A463)=some kind of traceability number

(0726)=Serialization code

I have been through over a half a dozen ValueRAM BH-6 / BH-5 512MB sticks that have all rocked... I guess there are some duds including the high $$ stuff though. Personally, I would still buy any 512MB ValueRAM BH-6 / BH-5 stick I come across...

And so would I.
I'll be damned. What I told you was my experience in AMD boards. Now I just put these two sticks again in IS7-E and voila! You are right, for now they are rocking at 215 and just running Memtest86, just passed one on 210!

OK, passed 215 once, going up now to 220. Thanks for making me test this.
Passed 220 once, going to 225. But I had to up the voltage so I doubt I'll go much higher. Already 2.8V.

THUGSROOK, Thanks... It is about time I got another decent processor. I really did not want to go the bent pin Outpost route again. :disgust: I Planned on refusing this one today since I bought PJ's 2.8C @ 3.5GHz.... Dammit! :frown: I'm glad I kept this one, but anyone interested in a sweet OC'ing 2.6 or 2.8C better keep an eye open in the For Sale Forum soon...

223x2=446 passing multiple Memtest86, errors on 225. Not 460 but not too shabby for "CAS 2.5" ram. Not good as GEIL but not bad at all. And yet another reason not to trust N-Force 2 on any ram.

I just got the exact same cpu, same FPO/Batch, same pack date! I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, I'm waiting on my new video card to arrive. But I did leave all voltages at default and all timings w/SPD and this thing has no problems booting and running windows at 170fsb.......... My card arrived today so I'm going to install it and start tweaking this to see what it will do. These cpu's sure look like winners though

Well, I haven't had a lot of time to play, but here is where I'm at so far.

2.6c at 3.41ghz/262fsb 1.6v
2X512mb Corsair XMS PC3500 @ 5:4 210mhz 2-2-2-5
Asus P4P800 Deluxe (still have 1007bios)
FIC 9800pro
73gig Hitachi 10K U160 scsi on Adaptec 39160 controller

I haven't run 3DMark2003 yet and I have a problem with PCMark2002. It reports the correct fsb (262), but shows the cpu as running at 3.3ghz, it's also having a problem with the scsi hdd for some reason. This cpu just doesn't seem to want to run over 262fsb w/1.6v and I really don't want to go more although it's running very cool (slk900u w/panaflo 80mm L1a). I'm sure I'll be able to do some more tweaking as I find time, but I'm very pleased so far

3DMark2001: 19480 (no oc on video card)
3DMark2001: 20875 (video card @ 440/360)

PCMark2002: CPU 8299, Memory 10384, would not give me HDD, and is reporting cpu at 3.3ghz instead of 3.4ghz.

I need to see what's up with PCMark and my scsi drive, and why it's misreporting the cpu speed. (any hints appreciated)

This is for comparison with my PCMark2002 on IS7-E (no PAT) doing 285x12 = 3.42 GHz at 5:4 FSB:Memory.
CPU: 8552
Mem: 9378
HDD: 1523

My comments: your CPU seems to me working at 3.3 GHz according to PCMark2002 scores (for a 3.4 it is certainly underperforming), your memory is doing real great and benefits from PAT and tight timings, and either your PCMark2002 crashes on HDD test meaning your setup is not stable or there are some issues with SCSI.

By the way, IC7-G rules. This is the best Canterwood motherboard of course. Ukgamer site claims to get it to 305 FSB, using unlocked 3.0C.
