Now that temps are under control I am beginning to march up the fsb as far as 1.7v will take me....

sorry no 3dmark2k1...I rarely run it all tweaked out so I just run it for stability...


Goal was to get to 175fsb...don't think I will get there without going higher then 1.71v and that is my limit...If I can get to 172fsb it will be a good test to run against 165-166fsb with 3:4 multiplier and 440mhz ddr...100mhz cpu slower and 100mzh more ddr in Thugs benches seems to be possible toss-up.....I will likely with my pc3200 corsair be able to do cas 2,2,2,5 at 342mhz ddr so that will help my mem bandwidth anyways...

That's awesome Duvie, jeez I can't wait to get my new 1.6. During some of my experimentation, I found that I was able to squeeze a bit more overclock room by setting my XMS 3200 memory settings higher, I'd be interested to see if it's the same for you.....

Couple things I have noticed playing the last couple of days...Thugs is right it seems that for stabuility some of these chips do not like the higher voltages of 2.7 2.8v....get more stability lower...

172fsb is a no go at 1.71v!!! Sorry for the delay....Ran benches but craps out in prime95 about 40-60 minutes...I have tried lowest settings but I am pretty much at bottom....


I will wait for new pc3200 ddr and see if that can help me irk a bit out!!!!

Believe it or not, even at 2.752ghz the computer is stable to run pcmark2002, 3dmark2k1se and do a short 5 minute divx video.....

But, I pride on prime testing as the true benchmark and it didn't cut it....I surely do not want errors or it crapping out after 2 hours in a divx encoding...

We do have a quicker method.

Load up CinemaCraft 2.5+ and encode an MPEG-2 clip. If your rig is even the slightest bit unstable, it'll go down faster than the Bangkok wh... er, well, you get the idea

Prime95 is a decent stress test, but don't rely on it exclusively. Actually, don't rely on anything exclusively. I task it to the absolute maximum on a daily basis so it's pretty easy to find instability if it pops up.
