I'll just bet this is a re-post that, somehow, got by me!

I found this as a result of a remark in another post by aphoenixrises - OneSuite

2.9¢/minute domestic long distance
International Rates (6.5¢/min to Japan; best I've found otherwise (10-10-811 (VarTec)) 15¢)

The current catch(es):
Must call 800 number to start call (causes 5 - 10 second delay).
Must enter 10 digit home phone# and 4 digit PIN, *if* not made from one of 3 pre-specified phones ("ZipDial")
Must pre-pay via CC, minimum $10 (344 min = 5.7 hr), max $50 (1724 min = 28.7 hr)
Whole minute billing
"Recharge" *required* every 6 months (min $10?) (or forfeit balance?)

Advantages:
Crystal clear audio on domestic LD (overseas currently more problematic)
Can be used for in-state calls !!!
NO TAX / UCF ! (I think)
Prompts at call start are appropriate and tell how many minutes remain available
No monthly minimum (well, in essence $10/6 = $1.67 = 57 minutes ?)
Instant billing record at web site (separately for 3 pre-specified phones and also in aggregate)

Also has a "MessageOne" feature ($1/mo).
Emails voice mails (.wav) and faxes (.tif) to specified email address.
Currently done via an assigned phone number local to Los Angelos, CA (213?)

OneSuite has been working great for me for several months now. It has amazingly low international rates. YMMV.

I was going to get this but I was unclear about one thing.

Is it a reacurring monthly charge? It's kind of unclear under the terms. It lists the ways to terminate the account but it doesn't clearly say if they charge every month. Help?

Pre-pay via Credit Card.

No monthly charges.

The account must be "recharged" to add additional minutes.

Very worst case, AFAIK, is the balance if probably forfeit, if you don't "recharge" every 6 months.

So, I guess if / when the account is terminated, OneSuite nabs the balance?

OneSuite.com is great! It's basically a prepaid calling card for 2.9 cents a minute. No monthly charge, but you do have to use your prepaid $$ by a certain date or you lose it. So I put $10 on it and use it when I'm at work or away from home.

I've used onesuite.com for 3 months and they've saved me alot of money! The calls are always clear, but I get some busy signals during primetime with the 1-800 number.
The website is fast and you can start using the minutes the instant you charged it. That reminds me, I should charge another $20.
Sometimes I think the tax per minute my at&t long distance bill per minute is as much as the onesuite.com rate!

I think I post every month when this post comes up, but I use it and won't be going back to the AT&T's, MCI's, anytime soon. Great rates, good quality -- can't complain - Been using for about 6 months -

Been with them for at least 6 month. Just had my first problem with them, they double billed my CC, they're working on clearing it up. Otherwise a great service.

100% satisfied with onesuite.com. I used it to call my girlfriend overseas this past summer. I was really impressed with the customer interface and call quality.

If your cellphone can call a toll-free number, then OneSuite should work with it. You probably will still be responsible for your local mobile minutes, but at least you don't have to pay the exorbitant mobile long-distance tariffs (but if your plan includes long-distance, then there is no point to using OneSuite with your cellphone). For calling international with your cellphone, OneSuite is probably the best option for everyone.

I made many international calls. One problem is that after about 15 minutes of call, the other side won't hear my voice. I could hear them, but they don't hear me at all. I had to hang up and called again. very annoying. I found that other people have the same problem. But it happened to me every time when I called overseas and over 15 mins.

Same response here, I have been using Onesuite.com for a while now and I love it. The only times I usually get busy signals is around 10pm EST but then i just have to try again one or two more times and it connects.

Another thing that makes OneSuite so good is that they do not charge a connection fee. With other services and calling cards you usually get charged about 59cents for every call you make, but not with OneSuite.

diddo. no problems here. longest I ever talked was like 1.5 hours to belgium.....

and it's really fun to tell the At&t people that you don't want to sign up with them because you get 2.9cents a minute.... I had one guy ask me for the web sight from at&t......

Ah, that's one of the questions I couldn't find the answer too on thier web site... is there a minimum charge per call, or a connection fee? Currently I'm using vartec which has a $.50 per call minimum (in other words they charge you a minimum of 10 mins per call). I would definately consider going to this if I didn't have to pay a minimum connection charge each call.

"but you do have to use your prepaid $$ by a certain date or you lose it?"

If you don't use your card in 6 months it gets locked down, but a simple recharge of any amount of $10 or more gives you a charge plus all your previous remaining balance.

No that's the best thing about this card! There are supposedly cheaper cards like 1 cent per, but you don't make up that balance til a 20 min call ....
