It helped my athlon 64 3400+ a little. If anyone needs a heatsink this would definetly be a good one to start with. Through playing around with it a little, I noticed that the fins barely got warm except at the way base. I then realised that the problem with this heatsink is not a lack of copper, or inadequite air flow, but rather, the heatsink does not come in full contact with cpu. In fact, on my athlon 64 less, than 2/3s of its surface is covered by the base of the heatsink. In the next week or so, I plan on milling out a copper bar to fit on the base of the heatsink and then weldit on. If this thread is still active i'll post my results.
