I have 2 computers both using winXP pro and i have a crossover cable. Comp1 has 2 nics (linksys and RealTek), the internet connection goes through the Linksys, Comp2 has 1 nic (linksys).
Now i want to have a network between these 2 computers so i can share the internet, files and printer. All the nics are installed and the cable is connected from the realtek nic to the linksys in comp2. I ran the network wizard on both computers and used the same workgroup name "MSHOME" but the computers dont see each other. I also right clicked on "my documents" on both computers and clicked sharing to share the folder.
When i opened "Network Connections" in Control panel i only see comp1 when i open MSHOME ( This is in comp1 control panel ) and in comp2 i see comp2 in "network connections". The computers only see them selves but not each other. In TCP/IP all the ip settings are set to be found automaticaly by the computer.
I know im doing something wrong, just dont know what. Thanks for any help.
