This looks like good $h1t!

I plan on ordering 4gb worth on Monday with the rest of my new system components. Someone said 4gb is a waste. But at these rock bottom prices? When I eventually move to Vista, my computer will thank me!

argh why do they do this to us. well i know$$$ but, i might as well sell my opty165, 2gb ddr400 gskill ram, and asus a8n-sli for $300, and buy a brand new board, chip and ddr2 ram for the same price maybe $100 more.

Tempted to upgrade to 4gb but there really isn't a need for 4gb nowadays for MOST users(even gamers). By the time there is a demand for 4gb DDR3 will likely be out.

It's already out, just not mainstream.

Yeah thats what I meant. If I knew this DDR2 would last me through my next CPU/Mobo upgrade I would jump on a couple more gig. I still can't believe its this cheap. But $80+ is still alot of money to spend on something that may not be needed.

To buy or not to buy...that is the question.

I'm just really glad I stayed out of the buying game as the prices kept falling though, I'd be pretty annoyed if I jumped at $150 or something.

you have to be really cheap if your going to wait for this ram to drop to $60. You might never upgrade your computer ever if your waiting for that. At some point they will stop producing so many and the price will level off. Try buying older ram and you will see what i mean. When the surplus is gone the prices actually start to go up and not down. Thats the first problem youll run into. The next problem you run into is PC-1000 ram will be 80$ in the 6 months you wait to get your "dream deal" at $60 (which i personally don't believe we will ever see).

Id be in for a pair of these if I didnt already buy ram. Good Find OP

I blame you and your claims that $60 PC-6400 wouldn't happen for me buying $57 PC-5300, lol. Oh well, ended up buying $72 ballistix anyway

See, it does pay to wait it out, and caving in just means now I have stupid extra RAM I have no use for. Grr.
