Does anyone else get the untrusted certificate dialog (via IE 5.5)? I took a look at the info, and it seems pretty bogus to me. Please don't take this as a thread crap, but I wonder if it does something to your machine after you accept the certificate, and the bogus price is to lure people in.

here's the info on the issuer:

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but it doesn't seem legit to me.

The 1.4 thunderbird can't keep up with the 2.0 p4 in anything but Business applications.

I love seeing how far people go to discredit AMD chips. If there was no AMD we would be cheering over a $1000 price tag on a 1ghz chip. Without competition there would be no reason for Intel to make faster chips at the pace they have been. Also the prices would be through the roof, I know many people who would never be able to afford a system if it was not for AMD. My first system was a celeron which never would have been without AMD. SO for all of you "taste great and "less filling" people just enjoy the fact that capitalism is alive and well in a country that allows you to exchange information with anybody around the world.

I love Pentium chips and I love AMD chips but for different reasons. Variety is the spice of life.

Lots of "pros" have mismounted AMD heatsinks. Happens more often for people with less experience. Just a warning, nothing more.

Oh, and all these low prices are great, but they do affect the amount of money AMD & Intel can invest into FUTURE technology.

well, the tomshardware article did scare me a bit, and it really scared my friend...he is like going crazy to make sure his athlon 1.4 does not burn in flames now. haha...he bought an oem as well, and his previous chip blew in flames because his fan wasnt working and the clip broke.
