I'm not sure I understand yet what you're trying to do. however, usually when installing hardware or connecting to them and I get BSOD's I check into drivers. May want to make sure they are up to date, etc. May be an issue with...grr. I can't remember the term..or whatever. When two devices are using the same...'interface' or slot or something...

you may also want to try the Networking forum.

And welcome!

There used to be a few brands of modems with drivers made to do things like that

Zoom I think was one of them

I used to use it with a pair of there ext. ones

Have to find 2 that support bonding

It could also be that there set for the same IRQ but since 2k they are supposed to share which works pretty well but not all of the time

I'm writing this reply on a multilinked modem computer.

1st, your ISP has to support multilinking. You usually have to sign up for 2 accts. to do this. My ISP (PCU.Net) gave me a discount on the second acct for a total of $20/ month.

2nd, you need two SEPERATE phone lines from your phone co.

3rd, in WinXP, go to connect to > show all connections > right-click on your ISP > properties > networking > settings > and check the "negotiate multilink for single link" connections box.

It makes 56k surfing and downloading more tolerable, but don't expect better online game performance (lower ping) in fact mine got a little worse.

EDIT... it sounds like you're having a hardware conflict as well. I'm using a External serial modem (OD EMS-100) combined w/ a Internal PCI modem (USR 5610B)

External serial (RS-232) modems always work better for things like that as there is no potential conflict. But you would need two serial ports and lots of recent mobos have only one. I think there are still serial port cards for PCI slots out there somewhere if you don't have two. External modems are a lot less expensive than they used to be.

However, you might be able to install two Neto Win modems if you install one and get it set up. Use it for a while alone and then try to add the second one.
