These are .tga files and the resolution is about 4000x3000 or something crazy like that. So I have to wonder if these are more for PR than actual gameplay representation.

BTW sorry if this has been posted already.

Wow, they weren't kidding when they said they wanted to make Doom3 an unpleasant place. :Q I hope the animation and sound are up to snuff with those high quality models/environments. That can make or break a game, imo.

Is it just me or do the creatures look cr*p?

All too obvious triangles and stupid looking in the first place - I mean what on earth is an upside-down head on a spider got to do with anything? About as scary as finding marmite in a peanut-butter jar.

Still images have nothing on how they'll act ingame.

Imagine how unimpressed you'd have been by a static shot of a stationary headcrab from HL.

Now imagine in-game video with volume cranked, and seeing a roomful of the little buggers soaring through the air to chew your face off.

Little different.

Now picture creeping along a dark area, then all of a sudden one of them drops on your head screaming unholy murder and sinking its teeth into your neck.

Trust me. It's going to be a lot different in action.
