2 Police Officers Shot During Ferguson Protest

Two St. Louis County police officers were shot outside the Ferguson Police Department just after midnight Thursday, police said. The shootings came during protests following the Ferguson police chief's resignation.

I just hope the officers are not seriously injured. Not a good time to be a police officer, that’s for sure. What is interesting - the protestors will never be considered in the wrong.

Cops all over the country have decided they make the laws, they choose which laws to enforce and when to enforce them and have no regard for people's rights. Ferguson is just the first place this has happened. Its going to continue and its not going to stop until the police, all police, learn that they can't trample our rights.

Instead of the police taking this as a wakeup call, they take it as a challenge. If things don't change and change big, this will not end well.

Someone at the scene, unseen and unidentified in the video, says: "Acknowledgement nine months ago would have kept that from happening."

This shows the attitude on why the healing will not be able to happen; reliving the past keeps the wounds open and will not allow any healing.

If that is directed at me, please notice I am not cheering. I even mentioned that maybe they are great guys. Just not shedding any tears. We all know the saying that with great power comes great responsibility. Part of that responsibility is swift, harsh punishment for bad cop behavior of any type. Until that happens, things are going to get worse, not better.
