Molly Wei sounds asian to me.Her last name is Indian, but she looks Asian. :hmm:
So why do they have pictures in the news of the guy responsible but not the girl Molly Wei
Looks like the trial has started...
So they got the girl to agree to a lesser charge with no jail time as long as she agreed to testify against the boy? Our justice system is so weak.

The guy is not a citizen and pleading guilty will mean deportation.
waste of money regardless
as i understand, the girl pleaded guilty and cut a deal. The guy is not a citizen and pleading guilty will mean deportation. Thus he is taking his chances in court. But public opinion is heavily against him.
Why is this a waste of money? Also, you said a kid would catch more flack on a college campus for being Israeli than gay? I don't know if you're Jewish, ignorant, or both, but that statement couldn't be further from the truth.
well, it seems that public opinion is largely, and grossly misinformed about what actually happened (Nancy Grace--no surprise)

basically--Ravi is very much a colossal asshole, guilty of being a self-serving, pretentious dick that acts as though his life--defined online--is an example of what all should strive to be--but no images, no video, were ever posted online.
ever. by anyone. This was a webcam shared among a handful of associates, of which ~10 seconds of anything was ever seen.
Doesn't mean there was no invasion of privacy, or any of the other bullshit--guy seems to be hateful, but also more just uninformed, young, idiot--but much of the reality of what happened has been grossly misrepresented in the public.
That's probably the main reason he wants this to go to trial.
yep, i read that same article a while ago. it does say that the only reason why nothing was broadcasted was because tyler turned off ravi's laptop and unplugged it. Ravi had all the intentions of broadcasting it to the public.
Yes Ravi's an asshole. Before I read that article, I was of the impression that this is all some horrible prank gone wrong. But reading it made me think that ravi actually deserves some kinda punishment for this.
Yes, I cant stand Nancy Grace also

All of Tyler's comments, even after learning about the webcam, suggest that this wasn't something that bothered him to the degree of suicide. Again, hard to say, as we can only infer intent from the words that he left behind.
my understanding is that there was a note left in Tyler's backpack, but its contents haven't even been released to his parents.
I thought he left no suicide note?
When this story first came out last year, the amount of misinformation was ridiculous, if more recent reports are to be believed.
I've read interviews with Clementi's father and brother. Tyler Clementi was not a closeted homosexual. His brother was long openly gay and Tyler had spoken to both of them about feelings.
His father has also said that he himself cannot connect the webcam incident to Tyler's suicide.
Tyler's brother said nothing of any pornographic nature could have been shown on the webcam, there was nothing but a kiss.
I'm now thinking the two are unrelated and what we're left is an a-hole and his prank. I.e., over-hype story, possibly due to political spin, from the start.
