2 wireless router 1 wireless print server 2SSID?

Already have 2 wireless router and trying to extend the range.

wireless router 1 Netgear 802.11g
wireless router 2 Linksys 802.11b (maybe AP)

Do I need 2 SSID?


(modem)--wired--(wireless router1) ----------wired-----------uplink(wireless router2)
////////////////////////////////192.168.0.1////////////////////////////////////192.168.0.254 (gateway 192.168.0.1)


(wireless print server)


3 wireless computers/1 wireless print server connected to (wireless router 1)
1 wireless computer needs to connect to (wireless router 2)
Does this work???

It would with 1 or 2 SSID2.

If you roam around with a Laptop you are better of with 2 SSIDs.

I assume that if I want to use 1 SSID than I would need AP?

Can I access the wireless printer server that is connected on the wireless router 1 from the computer that is connected to wireless router 2?

SSID is a Wireless Router feature as well.

If you use the second Wireless Router as a switch with an Access point you would have one coherent Network and all the Shared devices can be used from anywhere.

If you configure the second Router as a segregated device (I.e. using the WAN port) you would not be able to Share between Networks.

so if I setup both wireless router with same SSID than does the wireless comp/lap knows which router to connect to?

1 ssid would not conflict with 2nd ssid with same ssid?

I guess I just have to test this when i get home today.

If you have one SSID in both.

You start a Wireless connection near Source One, you move near source 2, the Wireless might stay connected to the weaker source one.

You have two SSIDs and you configure both with WZC as a preferred connection, the Wireless would connect to the stronger signal.
