I know BenQ launched their new 19" 12ms, but its only 1280x1024

Any idea if there will be a 20" 1600x1200 12ms anytime soon? I know that there are 16ms panels, but I always try to get newer stuff.

I wouldnt mind the 16ms part, what I would awant is a LCD monitor that can scale resolutions almost aswell as an CRT

take a deep breath too and prepare to accept the fact that LCDs just don't work that way.

Why do you say this? 4:3 ratio doesn't help scaling at all if that's what you were thinking...

I hope this will solve the ghosting resulting from scrolling thru text.

I think that's a bigger problem than ghosting with games.

Smaller pixels

He's talking about the distortion that happens when an LCD is used at non-native resolutions.

I know. The bigger the pixels, the worse the distortion. If you had a 20 inch LCD with a 100000000000x100000000000 native resolution, you wouldn't have any problem running it in non-native resolution.

I too, wonder why there aren't more 19" LCDs on the market, with higher than 1280x1024 native res. I would think that there is a market for 1600x1200 19" panels somewhere. In fact, the dot-pitch for 19" CRTs is better than that of 19" LCDs. That's pretty sad. A 1600x120 LCD, driven via a DVI-D connection, and utilizing ClearType, should be as clear or clearer to read than the CRT. But only if the DPI can be improved. My personal guess? Yields are easier to improve, with larger, lower-density pixel structures on the substrate. Plus, more pixels == higher chance (statistically-speaking), that more of them will be bad.

Both Sony and Viewsonic have 19 inch LCD screens with 12ms response times now which can be found on thier websites.

Man, I haven't looked at Sony LCDs in a looong time due to their slow response times. Well things have changed, and I think I have my eye on a SWEET Sony 19" 12ms LCD! I hope that 12ms is rise AND fall. :disgust:

This monitor is using their XBRITE tech as well, so it ought to look super-sweet as far as color reproduction and black levels go. (400 cd/m2 luminence, 500:1 contrast). Just wish it had a swiveling bezel.
