I can't recall what I paid but ever since they switched to euro's it has been about double of what it cost back in the day. Excellent programs to use, well worth the money IMO

I am not understanding how we are gaining anything by buying this software as it comes with only a 1-year, 2-year, etc license. When it expires and is possibly no longer available, won't it stop working at that time? Is this software really worth well over a hundred dollars for just two years?

Please explain. Thanks.

The subscription time refers to free updates and tech support only. The software will continue to operate even after the subscription ends. I've been using AnyDVD and CloneDVD for several years and they have always performed well and AnyDVD is updated very frequently. Fortunately, I purchased them both a few years ago for a fraction of the current price and with lifetime upgrades.

They still offer the lifetime packages, they just cost a lot more than they did back in the day.

If you bundle AnyDVD, CLoneDVD, and CloneDVD Mobile the price is about $150 with the life time license and 20% discount.

Me, too. I bought it when they announced the shift to pricing in Euros.

Say what you will about the cost, but the software is VERY good.

I second that!

I bought this when it was lifetime and cheaper, but I recommend this as the standard for DVD burning. AnyDVD+CloneDVD.

You can burn DVDs with other programs, but I've found that slysoft is the most reliable. They update often to circumvent new encryption techniques and their support is quite good.

When you are Slysoft, get their excellent, totally free "virtual clonedrive." With this, you can rip to ISO files and play the movie later as if you have inserted the DVD into a real DVD or blu-ray drive. It works very well and is free, with periodic updates. Make sure you are using the latest version.

And if you want to expand the files in your ISO image copies, you can always rip the contents from the virtual drive at a later date.

This is a good way to keep multiple movies in your computer.

AnyDVD vs. DVDFab 5... does anyone have a preference between the two? I've used both, but I can't decide which I like better. DVDFab is cheaper though...

AnyDVD HD, DVDRebuilder Pro (buy it, it's well worth it) and Imgburn. That's all I need!
I own DVDFab 6 too. It's great for splitting and ripping discs.

Edit: Windows 7 doesn't seem to like virtual clonedrive. It's a nice freebee, tho!

Don't own it, but I've heard good things. Slysoft's corporate history also gives them a boost in my book. When I get the money to build a legit HTPC, if they're as good as they are now they'll be getting my business.

I wish I had got AnyDVD HD when it was cheaper.
I believe the only reason they are getting such a high price is they are the only ones doing this now.
DVD43 does the same thing, and its free but its not updated as often, and its really the only other piece of software to remove protection.
The movie co's have big wallets and have sued/threatened all the other co's out of business

In the HTPC forums its a shame that everyone has to buy it to be able to play their blu ray movies.
Winders has more movie co protections built in than anything else and you can't even play a lot of your purchased movies without it.
