I have an Antec power supply with a 20 pin connector for the main power to the motherboard. I noticed that the newer motherboards require a 24 pin power supply connection.
Will the older power supply work with a newer motherboard (with an adapter of some sort)? There is a great deal on a mobo/CPU combo at Fry's today that I was thinking about, but having to purchase another supply would kill any savings.
I wanted to put THIS motherboard in my older Antec Sonata case (with its Antec power supply).
Am I heading for trouble with this? Is there any reason for not doing this?
Been a while since I dealt with any hardware (as if it wasn't obvious ).
Thanks for any advice!
