What's funny is how technology changes...iirc he had the Canon XL1S in that pic. I think I had an HV20 at the time & was super jealous. These days? I shoot everything on an iPhone 7S with a Chinese motorized stabilizer in 4K UltraHD with an anamorphic clamp-on lens, hahahaha.

You can substitute 1999 with something else. 1998 should definitely be Celerom 300A. It's the CPU that got a lot of people into overclocking and building powerful computers.

You get more control with the 2-handed version, but more convenience with the one-handed version, so it depends on how you want to use it. The one-handed one can fit in a decent-sized purse, so she could use it virtually anywhere. Note that they are beneficial tools, not magic tools...you still need to develop a bit of skill to learn how to use them properly (but really, a couple days of playing around with it & she'll get the hang of it in no time).

The anamorphic adapter is great if you want to shoot ultrawide. It's not for everybody, but if you want a cinematic look, it's pretty cool. I use the Filmic Pro app for iPhone, which lets me shoot log, which is great for color grading. I also have a tripod and a manual slider. I thought about getting a video drone, but I feel like drone shots are kind of over-done these days. Have also thought about getting a small crane (called a jib), but I can mimic a lot of crane shots using the motorized gimbal, so meh.

I was planning on getting a 4.6K-rez Blackmagic Ursa Mini, but they took so long to come out that by the time I got the 7P, well...it shoots 4K, I can do anamorphic with a clamp-on lens, it looks great compared to real cameras, and all of the accessories are relatively cheap compared to the big-boy stuff. I have a lot of fun with it...definitely worth the money for me. Plus, all of my previous stabilizers were manual & were a pain to configure for flying. Now I just strap the iPhone in, turn it on, and my footage looks totally professional with ease. It's awesome!
