Hook a DC power supply across it; that's just what the car does. It will get drained slowly while running, but charge continuously.

why not connect your computer psu's in parallel with the amp so they can share the load....

That's a regulated circuit, and is not necessary. It's just unnecessary complexity and cost.

The problem with building a DC supply is obtaining the transformer. The OP would need a 2 kVA 9V transformer (or 2 1kVA 9V transformers) - That's not something that is a stock item, and would almost certainly have to be custom made. However, transformers of that capacity are not cheap anyway - even off-the-shelf transformers of that capactity will likely cost $200-300.

now why exactly are you "breaking in" electronics. This is simply ridiculous.

You have too break in speakers, you can't get them and start playing them extremely loud. Heck the component speakers will completely change sound over the course of a week. I played one for about 6 horus through that PSU and amp hookup, and it got deeper and sounded much better from the others.
