That's about average for Cases 100 for $11 is the going bargain rate. I've seen it as low as 100 for $7 once.

Because the DVD covers don't break when you drop them.

Could anyone point me in the direction of a good deal on DVD cases? I want to buy at least 100 of them.

Because the DVD cases are made from a softer plastic and don't crack as easily as DVD cases.

Personally, I like the soft "clam shell" type cases for shipping CD/DVD's.

DVD envelopes I have found a better solution. I place my original case/media on my bookcase and burn to a flat envelope. I can fit 2-3 times as many on a shelf over my players than even a slim case.

I do use my originals to keep the burned copies standing on a shelf though until I have enough. Then I move the originals to my highest book shelf.

I used to not think backing up my discs mattered....however, I have had at least 10 discs destroyed in various ways. 10 discs * the average $15 is no small change. Prior to this I had many discs stolen at parties or destroyed.

Blockbuster throws out tons of DVD cases all the time, whenever they go from 50 copies of a new movie to 2. I don't know why, but I guess it's cheaper for them to buy newly made ones than recycle the old ones.

That said, if you had a connection with an employee, or access to their trash....

I ordered some from the original thread starter, the 200 for $22. My shipping to california was $8.75 for 200 and $12.13 for 400. I ordered 400 which came up to $58.68, about $0.15 each.

At first I wasn't gonna mention this but didn't want ne higher up employees there start destroying the goods like most retailers do... they always destroy perfectly good stuff before they toss it... i just didn't want to start buying dvd cases when they are so often wasted... 99% of them are in good quality...

Got to love businesses that push tax write offs to the limits.

Ya, they are making their money on the shipping. I ship stuff on a daily basis, and, sure, its a bigger box, and there is some weight there, but its not $22. I buy my cases from Shop4Tech, and they give free shipping, and the quality is top notch. They actually stay closed, unlike most of these cases I have used.

I snagged 1000 paper sleeves with windows off ebay for $29.99 once shipped and insured....decent price.

Tyvek is better but approaches the price of slim cases which are several times the price in the same qty.

These I just use when I am handing out media to friends though...I get slim cases when I see them on sale/FAR/coupon and seem to always have more than enough for backing up my DVD's...I used to think how can someone screw up a CD/DVD...but when you travel or bring stuff to a party your dealing with the collective retardation of all present , the media seems to either walk away or come back scratched.

received my cases today, only problem I have with them is that they are slimline dvd cases, the spine is a 1/4" accross, other than that they work fine. each box of 200 cases weighs 27 pounds.
