No. You just get $200. With an iPad 3, you're better off ebaying it or craigslist. This deal is great for those with old iPad 1's lying around like myself since the value on those have decreased to a point where the $200 trade-in is nice.

It's a $200 GC, applicable towards anything I believe. But I was in the market for a replacement iPad anyways since the iPad 1 was getting a tad long in the tooth. If you want the iPad mini, I'd trade it in but hold onto the GC and wait another 2 weeks for the new iPad mini with the retina display.

You can buy any iPad, but I suggest not wasting your money on a $399 iPad 2 or $299 iPad 2 Jr.

And actually you can use the $200 to buy anything that Target sells.

In all the trades I've done so far, they do a quick scan on the body for major damage, they test the screen and buttons, and that's it. No plugging in (no charger or accessories are even necessary to do the trade), and no in-depth testing.

best buy is offering a very favorable trade in price on iPhone 4's. I have 5 iPhones. 2 original 5's, 2 4s and one 32GB 4. I am going to trade that 4 for a 5s, upgrade another to a 5s, hand my 5 down and profit from the deal.

If you are going to get in on this deal, you better hurry. I went to two Target locations today, and was turned down. The manager in both cases said they got a memo to not give gift cards anymore, and to only apply credit towards a new iPad purchase. I pointed them to the text on www.targettradeinprogram.com that specifically mentions the gift card. and they did not budge. They stated that if I wanted the gift card, I could only get the regular trade in amount.

Well, no amount of storage is going to help with the main problem iPad 1's have.. and that's RAM. I'd say any iPad1 is pretty much EOL now.

Thanks for the heads up on the deal, I missed this in my local flyer.

I went to a Target in NH, but they couldn't do the trade-in because they had run out of the gift cards. The guy mentioned that a few nearby Targets were still able to do the trade-in, so I went to the other one and they did it no problem. $200 for a Ipad 1 16GB. The girl mentioned they had a lot of trade-ins today, so it might be good to jump on this if you are planning to. I told a few friends and they were interested.

I called the NH one and they had 1 iPad Air 16GB for $479 left so I was able to go back there and pick it up. The website said they didn't have any in-store. After the trade-in, sale and 5% off with a Target card I got the Air for $265. Great deal. The old iPad was suffering these days and programs were crashing often. Night and day now. Thanks again.
