I actually need a new credit card anyway, I just got my first job and my current card is a PNC Visa I got during college with a 1200 dollar limit. Fairly useless.. does anyone know if these sony cards are decent?

Yeah, I wonder... If this is really $200 off *anything* *anywhere*, it would be ultra plasma hot. But I'm not sure how far beyond Sony stuff at Sony's site it will go.
here are the card terms btw

So tempting. I can see myself using the PS3 as a bluray player. But are any of the games any good? Can it be used as a dvr or streaming media or netflix? Sorry, I'm a PS3 noob.

Hrm. Wasn't really worth it to me at $100, $200 however is quite tempting.
Also the "qualifying purchase" at sonystlye.com is only for the 0% APR for 12 months. As quoted above in order to qualify for the free $200 you have to make a single purchase for more than $349 within the first 45 days.
So far I'm seeing 10% interest rate, no annual fee. The usual CC terms and rules. Anybody else that has this card, or has read through the terms and conditions see anything out of the ordinary?

Damn, I wish it was $200 check, not a statement credit.
So let's say you buy a PS3 for ~$400, and then your monthly statement comes in for $400. The $200 credit will be posted to your account in 8-12 weeks. So obviously, it wont be applied to your statement with the PS3 on it. When you do get the $200 credit, your card's balance is now at -$200 correct? So, you get $200 worth of other items for free, instead of a discount on the ps3. If you buy the PS3 at Sony's site, you get 12 months 0% apr. So can you just pay the minimum (with no interest) every month till the $200 credit come in?

it says 8-12 weeks, but when I did it last year it was on the first statement right after I made a purchase.
Plus you can just use the card to pay for stuff you were already going to buy. I mean buy gas cards with it, or pay your auto insurance (which is what I did)
