OK, this is only an OK deal so far, but it has the potential to get better.

$200 is a pretty good rebate for this phone, the trick is to find a retailer that's selling it at a decent price. A1Wireless has it for -$80 after their rebate, but they don't look so good on resellerratings.com. You can get it for -$50 at Amazon (they have it listed as free, but that's with the old $150 rebate). I'm hoping we can do better, though. Please post here if you find a retailer selling it for less.

Do you have to sign up for a service plan? or can you just buy the phone by itself from their website and get $200 off?

As with all cell phones, you need to buy it with a service plan, at least $39.99/mo base rate.

Yeah, that is unfortunate, but T-mobile only offers two Bluetooth phones (the other is the Sony/Ericsson T610, which appears, by most accounts, to be inferior).

I owned this phone for a week, and sent it back, it was so bad. If the phone button placment isn't weird enough. The sound sucks. Volume is way too low. Especially for a guy (no purses) this phone is WAY to big to carry on a daily basis.

This phone kind of reminds me of the Edsel car. Great idea, but failed miserably. Remember, companies don't offer rebates for 'hot' sellers. Nokia probably has a warehouse full of them that they can't give away.

There's a plastic cradle holster you can get for it that makes carrying much easier. I got mine on eBay for $7 including shipping.

There are lots of cooler phones, but for the price -- it ain't bad!

Yeah. I did like the bluetooth feature. I miss that. But are yall having volume problems? Maybe I just had a defective phone.

The 3650 is a kick azz phone if you don't mind it being slightly bigger than some others. You get use to the button arrangement. My wife works at t-mobile corprate and they get great deals on all the top phones. Lots of the employees are going with the 3650. That should tell you something. They seem to love it. The display is great. Camera is pretty good for what it is. Same with video. The volume has never been a problem. Speaker phone is great. ChiefBrody, maybe you had a defective phone and can do a handset exchange.?. If all else fails, I think you could unlock it and put it on e-bay.

The 3650 is an AMAZING phone if you can discount the size. It's one of the first from a top carrier that has all the multimedia features built in that you need, the first best application of a camera, and the FIRST phone to offer flash expanstion. The symbian os is quick to get accustomed to and once you do, you will notice that there are so many apps out there that your head will spin. Sucky phone my batooty .

I'm offended by this statement! I have the T610 and it's in no ways "inferior". It's a great alternative and since you guys don't "practice what you preach" (what's all this talk of the 3650 being a brick and saying that T610 is inferior doesn't make sense to me).

OK, let me spell it out for you:

The T610 is smaller
The 3650 is better in most other respects

Now, this is just from what I've read in various reviews around the net; I still haven't made my decision. Don't ask me to quote anything for you; Google is just a few keystrokes away.

I don't see why you should be offended; it's not like you designed the damn thing.

See. The main reason I didn't like the 3650 is because I use a cell phone to simply make phone calls and receive phone calls. If I want to take pictures, I can use my 4mp Sony. If I need multimedia. I can use an IPOD or whatever. All of these things are FAR superior to these features on this phone. The fancy ring tones and all of that other nonsense are just gimmicks and fluff, just as most things with cell phones are today, save for a built in PDA for travelers and other people who find a PDA useful.

All in all, a cell phone is just that; a phone. The 3650 is cheaply made and loaded with sales gimmicks. You shouldn't have to 'get used to' simply dialing a phone number. That, in and of itself, is ridiculous. I was talking to a T-Mobile rep once. I asked him why people buy phones with built in cameras. He said the majority of people who come in, say they have to have one with a camera, but have no idea why they want it. Just that everyone else has one. And if an insurance adjuster ever brought back pictures from one of those low resolution jokes, he would get fired.

There is a reason you don't see these in the mainstream stores anymore.

I don't know what you consider a "mainstream" store, but just about every cell phone store I've stopped into, and every website that sells cellular packages, has them. True, CC & BB don't carry them, but I've been unimpressed by their selection at any rate.

how is the web surfing on this thing? I have it down to the 3650 or the sidekick. But i want the bluetooth wireless headset. I would love to be able to surf Anandtech forums in the DMV line.

I had this phone when it first came out. The phone itself is lightweight, but a little larger than some are used to. It's an awesome phone for just making calls....it fits nicely against your head, and you can actually grab it. Like most Nokia phones it's also a World phone...so after unlocking it you can use it all over Europe, as well as here (in Europe I'd hop off the plane, the phone auto-syncs the local time, and I plug in a prepaid sim card and go!).

The screen is gorgeous...with the MMC card you can load a ton of neat games on it if that's your thing (I ran full Sonic the Hedehog, and Doom...no problems!). The keys are a pain (about the only downcheck with this phone). Bluetooth is awesome...and since this was one of the first mainstream phones to have bluetooth, it's compatible with almost everything. I also ran the HDW-2 headset with it.

I really liked this phone, but recently upgraded to the 6820 since it syncs up over bluetooth with my IBM t40p, and I can easily type into the phone (keyboard) to manage my outlook contacts, calendar, etc.

Thumbs up for my 3650. I can run movies and mp3s on it. Use the IR Universal remote program to change the bar's TVs and surf the web with ease. I highly recommend the Opera browser.

Who doesn't love the T610? I use the T616 with AT&T, and I've got zero complaints. Maybe the quality control's not the greatest, but I went two and a half weeks without charging the battery, the bluetooth works wonderfully, and it's so incredibly portable. Granted, it may not have all the bells and whistles of the Nokia 3650, but I'd hardly call it inferior.
