Ignorant. Look at VAG's engine developments. they have everything from 4 cylinders up to 16. They also have the world's best CVT right now. I agree that currently, they aren't regarded as well as BMW and Mercedes, but those companies have long histories. However, to say that Audi will always be a step behind them is just ignorant.

To be a "drag racer" you are pretty ignorant... 1. Track conditions 2. Tyres 3. Driver Confidence (To drop the clutch on a redlined car) 4. Level of tuning and finally 5. Individual car differences

Uhhhmm, can I have whatever you are smoking? I have a chipped A4, 0-60 is high 6's maybe low 7's, 1/4 mile is low 15's, some can get into high 14's...Not slow by any means, but you are talking S4 numbers. No A4 can approach that without a larger turbo (APR's stage III for example, 280hp but still slower than well driven stock S4)

The A4s over here chipped with exhaust are 300hp+ huge boost, the engine is so strong it can take it. I am not sure but I belive most run 20+ PSI

I am not talking about little chips that make A4s put out TT numbers here... I am talking people who spend as much on their A4 as they could buy an S4 for, the driving experience is quite different. More like a racing car, where the S4 is much more relaxed.

Sorry your A4 is so slow, what do you have it chipped to 180hp or so? Manual or Automatic?

Actually the difference is about 100hp. Chipped A4's (as in just reprogramming the ECU) usually push 200 - 210 hp, while chipped S4's push out over 300hp.

Ok, I'm gonna have to call bs. There's no way the stock K03 turbo can push out over 300hp. I think you're confusing "chipped" with a whole new turbo (which usually needs new ECU program).

the UK version of the A4 could be a totally different motor. Remember that Flat is in the UK. They have weaker laws when it comes to the strangulation that the US puts on cars.

For the Bimmer guys, remember the VW group has the W engine coming up. In 8,10 and 12 cylinder flavors. In other words my engine can beat up your engine, LOL
