A friend of mine was driving along yesterday, when the car wouldn't accelerate from a stop - seemed like the trans was slipping from what she described (i wasn't there). She restarted the car, and it worked OK for a couple miles, and then the CEL came on. The dealership is telling her that the "Pressure control module" needs to be replaced, and is quoting her $1500. Does this sound legit? is this the famous accord/odyssey glass transmission issue i've heard about?
from a quick search, depending on what part/parts of the pressure control solenoid assembly are required, the parts are around $250.
the car has about 100k miles. I'll try to find out more information tonight.
thanks
