Got my test-drive form & $75 gift card bit yesterday in the mail......off to drive the behemoth!

i went to galpin ford in san fernando valley. mine is already in the mail and I didn't write down the code, but it was kinda long, maybe 6-7 digits. It had at least one letter, i dunno I didn't really look at it I just dropped it in the mail.

You can usually just call the dealership and they will give you their dealer code. It's not like a closely guarded secret, it's just like a store number.

The guy that signed my form writes ugly...couldn't even understand if he wrote a 1 or the letter L in the code. Just mailed it hoping that it was valid.

Here's a weird occurance. I ordered the 2003 brochure for my father and one for me. He received a test drive postcard which has the $75 debit card. I received a test drive postcard with a $50 debit card. Wonder why he got the $75 and I got the $50? He drives an SUV , go figure......I bought it for him.....

Wife and I just returned from Courtesy Ford (NE 122nd Ave in Portland, Oregon). We were in and out of the dealership within 2 minutes (yes I actually timed it with my stopwatch).

First of all I was surprised that a salesman or two didn't approach us in the parking lot like the vultures usually do. Esp since we were in the car for a good 3 minutes reading over the test drive cert and tearing it off. As we're approaching the dealership's doors a salesperson opens the door for us and greets us. I handed him my test drive cert, he read it over asked if I was interested in buying a 2003 Ford Expedition? I said no, then said honestly but politely that I don't want to waste his time, nor our time by taking a $40,000+ SUV out for a spin. He thanked me for my honesty, we walked into the dealership, I asked them some questions about the Ford Focus while he completed and signed the two test drive certs. He handed me his business card saying if I was ever in the market for a car give him a call, we thanked him for his time and walked out.

Let's see $150 / 120 seconds = $1.25 per second tax free, not bad

I received a brochure right away, but no test drive offer. Several weeks later, another brochure showed up with a test drive offer. Maybe patience is required.
