It's gonna cost me $450 shipped with tax by going through Dell Small Business. Can anyone tell me how to get it from the Home site?

Just use the Home coupons listed elsewhere.

I ordered one as well. Was right at $400 with shipping from Dell Home (no tax)

Shipping was only $3 since they had some deal on 3-5 day shipping.

I'm sooooo excited I will be upgrading from an ANCIENT 17" compaq presario 1725 so 20" is going to be sweet.

Will it look ok at 1280x1024? That's what I run my 17" in and it's what my ti4200 128mb ddr card likes best with my games.

I hope I won't have to spend another $200-300 on a new video card next

You need to run it at 1280X800 (16:10 ratio) but once you see games at 1680X1050 your gonna want a new video card.

Do you think the price of this monitor will go lower once the christmas holidays comes closer, or will it go back up again?

Basically, I'm wondering if I should buy now while the buying is good, or wait for the christmas season if the buying then will be better.

More pixels too..

I've had one for about a year now and I would consider the 24, but not the 2005.

All a matter of personal opinion, I suppose. I'm holding out for a 42" 1080p LCD panel before I upgrade again.

I run this monitor at 1680x1050 with my TI4200 128. It works decently well. But I'm no hardcore gamer. For windows though, FREAKING SPECTACULAR! It really is awe inspiring. DVI is a must though; I have both and it looks significantly better on DVI.

Also, one HUGE feature that none of the above posts answers is that this monitor can scale to a lower resolution (ie., "Fit to screen") which causes distortion, OR, not scale at all. That means that you can play games at 1024x768 or whatever other lower resolution you want WITHOUT SCALING, and you will have little black bars on the side. Again, realize that this is a great feature that people with older cards will really appreciate. You just have to play with the setting as the default is to go to the "Fit to screen" option.

Seriously though, worth buy as it is a spectacular monitor!

MD.

I have found out now that trying to ask a question on support, ie shipping or cancelling is nearly impossible.
My email says Estimated Ship Date: Thursday, October 13, 2005 .
I took that to mean it will arrive around that time, but the website gives me a range from the 18-20th. That's unacceptable as I will not be around.
Something that is odd is when I look at my account details, it brings me to acct details on the small business section when I ordered from home section.
I can't even talk to a text chat support rep because the page tells me after entering in my order / customer # that I am not a home customer.
I tried calling the number I could find after searching for some 10 min on the website and after several button selections later I am FINALLY told the phone support is closed!
I thought Dell had 24/7 support??

Oh well...if I don't want it I can always sell to the newbs at Ebay that buy them for $700.

man, i hate it when they did this. Just ordered my 2405 FPW today, it was $935 after the 22% off+tax($74, damn CA)+env fee $8. Total was about $1014. Think more of hot deal like this will exist for 2405? The sales rep wont budge when i asked for more discount. >.<

Actually the 2005FPW can do 1280x1024 natively, so long as you set the display to not stretch the image to fill the screen.
