2005fpw screen looks 'wet'

I notice that the display on my 2005fpw looks like it was just wiped off with a wet rag. I don't know how to explain it any other way, it's not too bad just want to know whether this is the norm for lcds. I can see it on other lcds but it's not as noticeable. Is there something about this model that makes it more noticeable? Anyone else notice this?

pics possibly? my lcd projection tv (no, its not an LCD tv...just...yeah...read up if you dont know) does that somewhat as well. Dunno why.

It sounds like you're talking about that screen door effect. It occurs to some degree with all LCDs; I have heard that it's due to the space between individual pixels.

Are you using the DVI input or the VGA?

Do you mean that it looks somewhat grainy? The light that LCDs emit is polarized (this is what enables them to do their magic in the first place), which means that they are very susceptible to uneven film thicknesses. In other words, maybe your monitor really does need wiping off with a wet rag (if people keep touching it, hence leaving an oily film behind), or the QC in terms of the layers after the LC could stand some improvement. But like backlight bleeding, your mileage may vary brand names and off-brand names alike.

Screen door effect might be a good way to describe it... for example when looking at a solid white space (like the posting fields in this forum), instead of a solid, pure white I see white with kind of an irredescent look to it (like little, little bits of color).

Yeah my LCD looks like that too, as well as every other one i've ever seen, except for maybe those X-brite displays that use a more glass like surface for the coating.

Hmm my 2005fpw does not look like this at all so not sure friend.

I use X800XL and DVI in.
