2006 Dodge Magnum... Anything I should know?

I looked closely at an srt8 or RT a couple years back.

Front ends are total trash.

Interiors rattle.

My biggest problem was finding one that wasn't ragged to hell and back.

It was supposed to be the vacation/rainy day car, but they all were literally falling apart and dirt cheap or original owner and asking >20% of a realistic value. For what people wanted for clean ones I could've bought a new one.

Maybe the market has improved, but that's what ultimately steered me away.

Anything but SRT8's from the first few years are pretty low value now. V6's are very low. Agree that most SRT8's are very mint and overvalued or trashed.

SRT8's have better front ends, but a weakness of the platform for sure.

And if the seller is making up BS claims about mpg he is probably full of BS elsewhere.

If not for all the other reasons, I'd walk purely due to "seller claims he's getting high 20's to low 30's highway"

Fuck, I'd never have bought a used car in my life if I lived by that rule

Do the work your Impreza needs and you will have a car 10x more reliable than the Magnum could ever be.

this. the subaru motor will last you 300k+ miles if you maintain it. i also have a hard time believing the car is slow, even in NA form they are quick little cars.

Don't get the 2.7. You need the 3.5 for that generation. 2006 was the beginning of Chrysler's turnaround and things still could be iffy. Anyone who gets the 2.7 in the Magnum or Charger in that year regret it bigtime.
