It is a concept car right now. It isn't in full production yet. It's 90% of what the production models will look like. There isn't even any interior in there. Didn't you read the article?

Goddamnit no kidding, everyone "I don't like the unpainted hood, rims, center exhaust"

It's a concept people, LOTs of things will change

Yeah, but why do they put things on it that obviously won't be in the final car. Why not make it as realistic as possible. It's obvious the hood is going to be the same color as the car, and headlights won't be tinted, so why do that on the concept?

Concept cars generate interest, you don't generate interest with a normal street car whene everyone else has insane concept cars

Hey, not bad at all...the lines in the concept are gorgeous, I hope they get within 75% of that model.

Meh. The 200hp factory Civic has been a reality everywhere outside the US for some time. The Jap spec version of the Type R has 210+ and is also built down the road from me and exported from Britain back to Japan.

This concept car has the same running gear as the Integra Type R (The current one that you also don't get, nor do we except from the gray import market), with the 6 speed and LSD.

Essentially apart from chucking some Brembo's on there with a new skin this is not a great leap. I very much doubt that it will get to market with four pots on the rear wheels. I don't even think any Ferrari's come with four pot rears, do they?

Nice concept tho. I like it. I even like the unpained carbon, but only with the silver paint.

AIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! RICE WING!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, someone had to say it.

Looks pretty good. I'm going to guess that 200 hp and a 6-speed close-ratio manual w/ limited slip differential is probably going to take it out of competiton with the Mazda 3 and Scion tC though, unless Honda is hiring small Taiwanese kids to assemble their cars now for lower costs.

The Civic Si will not hit the market with 200 hp. Quote it...

The Civic Si Concept celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Civic Si legacy in the U.S. and builds on its performance heritage with a 200-horsepower, 16-valve, DOHC i-VTEC engine with an 8,000 rpm red line, mated to a close ratio 6-speed manual transmission. Helping to put all that power to the ground is a helical-type limited slip differential for improved launch traction and cornering performance.

So where exactly does it say how powerful the production model will be?

It's going to make it, don't worry. Honda wouldn't release the info for no reason at all.

Looks sweet, but will it be as slow as the rsx type-s? The rsx type-s does the 1/4mile in only 15 secs and it has 210hp, the previous type-r was faster with less hp, go figure.

Btw did anyone notice...
provides a strong indication of the styling and performance direction for an all-new production Civic Si Coupe scheduled to debut later this year.
So while the concept looks sweet, the production probably wont look as sweet.

The Integra only had a few less HP but was at least 100 pounds lighter...

Obviously it would be easy...but it would also have been easy in 2002 when the current generation of Civic Si was given the powerplant that would later be used in the base model RSX.
