Still got a long way to go to match my 700 lb-ft of rear axle torque

More lunch for my '03 Kenne Bell 700 RWHP Cobra I guess

'03 Cobra + Kenne Bell 2.4L blower ~ 700 RWHP

Only 340 HP? that sucks.

lmao

HYUK HYUK! how you like dem apples now!?

In 5 years, that Honda will be worth more than your Cobra. And it'll be in fewer pieces.

Hmm...in 2010, his 2003 Cobra will be 7 years old and the 2006 Civic Si will be 4 years old.

Using KBB.com, a 1998 Cobra in good condition with 70,000 miles has a trade-in value of $8,135, while a 2000 Civic Si (there was no Si in 2001) in good condition with 40,000 miles has a trade-in value of $9,330.

Which car will be in "fewer pieces" is anybody's guess but with these numbers, it seems very likely that you'll be right about the "worth more" part

That is hard to predict being that the 2003 (and 2004) will be the last Cobra's made for a while (next in 2007? and is only a 2 passenger?) and there were only a few thousand made. Those years are the most powerful production Cobra's to date, and are quickly earning a reputation for the most HP out of a factory engine with only bolt-on parts in recent history. I?m wondering if they won?t become a thing for collectors.

Believe me I honestly don't care for Fords but you can't argue with the numbers... the '03 dropped a bombshell? the only reason I reconsidered... and I can't quite afford a Ferrari yet...

Will be interesting to see though...

Besides I don't care what it will be worth, a car is an asset, not an investment; at least not a brand new car that you drive every day.

They are.

Oops, forgot something:

Honda should stick to making cheap reliable cars instead of trying to lure highschoolers with artificial bling.

What's artificial bling?

Bling in and of its very nature is artificial.

When you don't have power, class, taste, or specs to back anything up, just add a bunch of flashing, non functional shiny blinking stuff to your <car, pc, etc> in a vain attempt to make up for it. Everyone will be so puzzled trying to figure out 'WTF' that they won't notice you only have 65 HP or a 800 MHz Celeron and as long as it has neon blue flames on the side they will think it must be fast and most important, expensive! The sad reality is most people spend enough on 'bling' that they could at least have bought the next trim level up, if not a better car!

The Cobra isn't the best looking car, but it it has power that speaks for itself, and does away with hood scoops, skirt kits, flared rocker panels, and wings of the other mustangs (or any other car) and lets the car itself do the talking. Clean and sleek, with minimal form and all function.

That said, having seen the actual photos instead of those of the original post, it's not that bad looking of a car. But I won't be getting one. I got tired of being pwned in (non-riced) Japanese four bangers by everything with 5 more HP than I. Some of the ricers that were always able to beat me of course owed nothing to the rice addons; the stock car in every case was already better than mine by a significant margin of HP. I.e. How can you compare a 210 HP V6 Eclipse against a 125 HP I4 Camry and say the Eclipse is faster because it has 733t m0dz like a fart muffler and a wing??

So I thought I would get a taste at the other end of the spectrum with 700 raw HP. Nothing against the Japanese cars, they are excellent. I took that Camry to 120,000 miles with nothing more than 40 oil changes and 2 timing belts and it's still going like it was new.

Just different cars built for different things. The Cobra was just built to *NOT* be pwn3d by everything. Yeah a few things will pwn it like a 1200 HP Lingenfelter Vette or a 1000 HP twin turbo Supra, a 1200 HP Viper Venom, etc. But those car have as much money in the engine as I do in the entire car and are more rare than even a 700 HP Ford, so it doesn't bother me as much as being pwn3d by ANYTHING, stock or otherwise, in a 4 banger.

It is when people don't see that 'different cars built for different things' that cars start getting ugly and noisy thanks to highschool kids that think their < 150 HP 4 banger civics are race cars...

I'd like to see it without the wing. It is a nice wing compared 99% of the ones I've seen, but I am not a wing man. Any super photochoppers available to cut off that wing?

For that matter, I couldn't get one, but if I were 10 years younger.... Anyone get the specs on the new hybrid? I need something offset my trucks bad drinkin habits.

Seems like you should hate the drivers of these cars rather than the company that made them.

RSX is the Integra in Japan.

which is based off the Civic platform right?
Uh...they both are built on Honda's Global Compact Platform if that's what you mean.

The CR-V and the Element are also built on this platform.
