Worth it just for Vista, though I don't know how that will work considering it's been pushed again. Maybe they send it later after the hardware.

Locked since this is very dead.

if you have a retail employee, there are quizzes that you can take and event you can go to in order to get points. if you get over 8000, you qualify

Yep. But you'll need 12,000+ to get a guarantee that you'll actually get a bundle

Not a bad deal. Except Vista is likely to be MIA

Yes. When I worked for a store last year they called my manager to check if I worked there.

or you can show a paystub at a live event closer to order time. you get qualified faster and you get some free chips just for showing up and listening to their spiel, not to mention there's the possibility of winning some stuff. they usually have at least one bundle from the previous year that they give away.

maybe I'll get lucky and they will remember my name becasue they wanted to hire me before I found a better job and they will slip and think I work there.

people like you ruin the program for those who qualify.

Please don't waste your time if you're not a retail employee. They really do check if you qualify.

this is all just an advertising "scam" anyways.

if all of the retail employees spend their time learning about core duo in a vain effort to earn chips to get a good deal on a computer, then the next time you walk into a BB, the only thing the kid will talk about is the core duo because he doesnt know enough about the other systems and the most important thing to him is telling you as much as he can so he sounds like a good salesman and you buy the system. It's not a bad idea but dont think that there arent some underhanded motives in place.

since when did the average kid at BB know ANYTHING about computers? All this does is give them a good deal on Intel's new product line. It has just been around a year now that you actually see AMD chips of any magnitude in retail outlets. The sales people only sold what was on the floor and they only said what little they needed to say to sell it. This is just one of many thousands of ways for Intel to spread their propaganda, but let's not for one minute make the leap that computer salespeople have a clue what they're talking about.
