i am getting mine today. im filled with glee. i bought some 667 ram last year for the last intel bundle, so im hoping its compatible.
my wife is going to use it for photoshop, and im prolly not gonna touch it that often.
anyone want to buy a 7900GT? i havent gamed in months... or trade up on a 73/7600?

it is still a hot deal, because Vista is, indeed, a full Ultimate Edition that will ship when it becomes available (Feb 2007).

So they are shipping rc1 now but then will be shipping ultimate edition later when it comes out? Where did you get this info from?

Thank you for contacting the Intel(R) Retail Edge Program Team.

We will be sending out the Motherboard, CPU, and a copy of Windows* Vista* RC1. Once Windows* Vista* Ultimate launches in January 2007 all Program members will receive a full copy.

Regards,

*****
The Intel(R) Retail Edge Program Team
www.intel.com/retailedge

And my Intel rep informed me at a live event...

I would have rather got another licensed copy of XP Pro followed by Vista Ultimate... 2 OSes for the price of 1... I already have the RC

I still haven't decided what to do about ordering one. I'm gonna have to buy new ram & a new vid card if I do then try to sell my old stuff. I could care less about Vista from some of the things i've heard about it. I've been tempted to go the AMD X2 route so I can keep my ram. I don't mind upgrading my video, tho.

I'm in the same boat, new ram, new vid. However vista is a big deal to me, especially the ultimate version and it's media center capabilities The main thing holding me off is the board itself and having to buy new memory (a minimum of a $100 purchase:*)

this mb has a lot of issues. Intel just released a bios fix to a long list of incompatibilities.

As said before as long as you don't put ram over 1.8v in it....the memory should be ok. I threw in two 1GB pny optima sticks at 667mhz and it ran fine. All said and done my new system with this retail bundle is

Intel Retail Combo E6300/dg965wh - 240 shipped
ati x1900xtx - 240 shipped
2GB 667 mhz ddr2 - 240 w/tax
500 watt titatnium psu - 10 AR through hot deals forums
antec p180 - $115 w/tax
samsung 931bw 19"x2 - $250 for both w/bf instant rebate deal
floppy/dvdrw - $35

Not bad all said and done about $1200 or so. The only "regular price" I had to pay was the stupid memory (grrrrr to inflating memory prices.) Anyways, unless this sytem should keep me settled for the next 3-4 years.

Has anyone tried this bios fix yet to see if that solved the issues?

the manual states that in order to run core 2 duo the fsb must be at 800 and or 1066. so will this work with 533 and or 667 mhz DDR2 memory.

anyone build one yet

Anyone know when the last day to order this is?

I've got my confirmation and my code to order it but I'm not sure if I want to get it since it will mean I have to buy at the very least new memory and thats an extra $200 I don't really want to spend

Not to mention that I'm tired of intel boards with no overclocking capabilities

Sheit upon further review, it looks as though the DG965WHMKR only supports memory with a 4-4-4 or a 5-5-5 timing

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGG

anyone verify this?:|

Intel DG965WH motherboard requires 1.8 volt latency 5-5-5 memory for ddr2 6400--so most all of the ddr2 4200 and ddr2 5300/5400 will meet that requirement. Look to the Technical Product Specifications page 16 for more information. The tricky part is on the ddr2 6400 that will run at 1.8 volt lateny 5.

I've built my system with the Intel board temporarily using OCZ 4200 Memory that I've borrowed from my wifes PC, and will rebuild with another MB once 2gb ddr2 800 memory hopfully drops $$next year. I've not upgraded the BIOS yet still burning in the computer prior to loading up the software so I can't speak much on problems. Works fine with my Dlink 4300 router. Many people in our store want Vista Ultimate at the 220 price having the E6300 is just iceing on the cake.

does that mean all the 2.0v and 2.1v ram will NOT work ???

i'm still waiting for my motherboard and was looking around for ram.

The DG965WH motherboard will not support 2.0 2.1, only 1.8 volt see page 16 on the Technical Product Specification booklet on Intel.com site. I've notified eveyone in our store of this inportant requirement.

2GB Dual Channel Kit P/N - OCZ2P8002GK

not sure what the deal is on this board/memory. im almost 100% certain that one of the two sticks that came in my 2gb kit was dead. i trialed/errored the memory and found one of the sticks to be dead so im only runnin with 1gb of memory mentioned above.

i am however having a b;tch of a time with the on-board audio and getting that working.. the driver says my system is not compatible and cannot find an alternate driver. damn!
