Overall I thought the Oscars were better than last year. They weren't as good as a few years back when Steve Martin hosted though.

Hopefully they ask seinfeld to host next year since he kicked ass.

I mean, it was a good movie, but best picture?

Probably because it was a good film? It doesn't fit into the "serious" cat. that usually wins...

Yeah, credit was given. I heard Infernal affairs mentioned on more than one occasion.

These "omg copy" Nazis get on my nerves.

LMAO...those of you saying suck it to infernal Affairs fans...

you do realize the Departed would never be without Infernal affairs right? everything was a copy straight from the HK movie and yet, it was a poorly translated and copy attempt.

I didn't see Martin's part. first departed award I saw was the adapted screen play, the editing and best picture award.

the adapted guy I don't know how he wins for translating something. I forgot who the other nominees were but I'm sure they work harder than that guy did. well maybe not Cohen.

I don't think the lady said anything, she was talking martin most of the time.

And again, the American version of the "The Office" would "never be" without the original version. That doesn't make it any less better than the original.

Just b/c you saw the original and didn't like the "copy" doesn't mean it is a bad movie. It was a good movie.

For those that have grown up loving movies like Scarface, Godfellas and Casino, The Departed slips right in there as a great flick.

They did this awhile back when they gave "Babe" a nomination as well. I thought it was a really good movie, but knew it had no chance for best picture.

Everying was a straight copy? They combined a lot of characters, added new characters, had characters inspired by real life characters, different plot elements, etc.

Infernal Affairs was a good movie. The Departed was a great movie.

I do wish they copied the ending of Infernal Affairs!

Does Aviator count? or Raging Bull? Was that in New York? Fits the violence theme though.
