Any reason not to pick one up just after the 08's come out? Seems to be the best luxury, performance, spacious (no coupes), quality car for the money.

Only possible downside I see: Premium fuel and 19 / 27 mpg (with all that performance you'll probably get below 19mpg with a lead foot). If you can live with that, go for it!

Looks pretty good. The only other comparable car that I would suggest is the BMW 328xi because it's only $2K more and comes with AWD.

2008 CTS will be running on regular with similar numbers.

I'm getting 14mpg on the cheap fuel with my current car, so it's still an improvement.....sadly

True, but if you drive like I would with all that power, you'd never even see 19mpg with the G35

even with 16 mpg, I'd be breaking even at worst

Eh, I get around 21 MPG on my G35 coupe, and I drive "spirited." That's what my trip computer says at least.

You can get away with regular unleaded. I can't think of a car built today without knock sensors and an adaptive ecu to retard timing for the fuel.

You'll lose some power but save some money.

Personally unless you're getting a great deal on an 07, I'd wait for an 08 model.

I doubt there's going to be much difference between the 07 and 08. It would make sense to snag an 07 for cheap once the 08's come, no?

Isn't there a major facelift between 07 and 08 as well as a 3.7 instead of 3.5 or is this already in place?

No. The 3.7 is in the coupe. I don't think there are any plans to put that in the Sedan in 08.

OP, go for it man. I'm seriously debating between the Sports 6M/T Sedan or Coupe right now. The only thing holding me back are gas prices (currently in an Altima 2.5SL) so more than likely I will just wait until after the summer rush ends.

I'll never understand how using premium or getting a lower mpg is an issue for a car that sells for 35-40k.

It's really just a mental hurdle. I used to think the same thing until I had my first G35 Sedan ('04) and realized that the difference in performance I noticed between the three grade types was not that big of a difference. I usually just put in mid-grade.

it is definitely an evolution in the right direction compared to the first generation G sedan.

Oh ok I thought the 3.7 was for the sedan and the coupe. My mistake, definitely go for the 07 op.

As much as Infiniti/Nissan share the VQ I highly doubt that the 3.7 will be limited just to the G37 Coupe.
I am willing to bet that the Infiniti sedan along with the many other models will also be getting the 3.7.
