I guess if your job keeps you off I-15 or I-15, or you happen to drive the opposite way during rush "hour".

meh, I could never buy a mt. At least inland, the I-15 is a mess starting around 2:30/3pm through 7pm. Everytime I venture to the coast, the I-5 seems to be about the same. I don't go that often during the 3-7 slot though. Although, once this construction is complete, might make it ok.

where do you live?

traffic is hardly a deterrent. Driving an auto is a horrid experience for me

I know a lot of people who feel the same way. I just couldn't do it with the traffic we have.

you play racquetball or paddleball?

not regularly, last time I played racquetball (~2 years ago) was at the 24 hour fitness in carlsbad. Only 24h fitness in the county with a racquetball court IIRC.

Thats why I went with an Audi in the 2.0T variety. Pep plus GREAT mileage even if driven hard.

Is it quattro or fronttrak? 6M or CVT? How do you like it and have you had any problems?

I'm looking to get a new car within the next 6 months and that too is on my list of cars to check out. Audi isn't known for it's reliability, unfortunately. But, 200hp/207tq, 24/32mpg, and a semi-entry-sporty-luxury feel in the low to mid $30k range sounds nice.

I play at a club on the coast, and I get people in for free, but I prefer playing with B level players

I drove both...the TL felt kind of slow to me. 0-40 was pretty quick, 40-80 felt kind of slow. I didn't consider a Lexus because it screams old and boring to me. I did test drive a 335xi and that was a pretty sweet car...but for 15k more than the G35 with the same options it was a no brainer. Also, the 335xi interior is garbage compared to the G.

Also other features like the pushbutton start and the hard drive pushed me towards the G35.

I just bought a G35s 6MT...the wait for delivery is killing me 60 days...I'm looking at hte mid to late July time frame.

Also, as far as gas, I drive a V8 Grand Cherokee that gets 12 miles per gallon (supposed to get 16 but I'm a leadfoot) so anything is an improvement. 1 mile per gallon more in the city isn't going to sway me towards something with better gas mileage.

Nav and premium. Got it for 34900...I think I could have gotten lower because there's a dealer incentive on it right now.

You should shoot for dealer invoice including D&H.

I don't like BMW. The interiors seem so archaic to me. Plus they're more $ and slower.
