I have decided.

Today I took Monday off, and I am going to buy World Series tickets.

I mean....how often does the World Series come right straight to you?

and for anyone telling me to get over it, the way the phillies and d-backs rolled over san diego could've been in the dance and had the pitching to actually show up! but if theres a team i want to win, i hope its colorado because im still a little bitter over being called the nl worst a couple of seasons back. yeah, i hold grudges.
Even if he didn't, the game was still tied at that point, and they probably would have won it the next inning.
tied with 2 outs and a runner on second. trevor comes out, cla meredith in and gives the padres a scoreless inning while they get another clutch hit and move onto the nlcs.

fine! im officially over it. at least the padres wont be the only nl west team without a world title. but kinda sucks to be lumped with the san francisco giants.

Cleveland & Boston are both a lot better teams then Arizona & especially Philadelphia was ... I think the Rockies have a decent chance to win the WS but I also think its going
be a tough matchup.

I have a question: if Cleveland wins their championship, will anyone even end up watching this year's World Series? It seems like neither the East Coast nor the West Coast will watch the series, given that they don't have teams from their locations playing.

Point is you don't know what would have happened. Maybe they got another run, but then in the bottom half maybe the Rockies would have gotten 2.

It's still the WS. Why wouldn't you watch it - especially with the caliber of teams that will be in it - it's sure to be a great series, no matter who wins.

Nope, nobody at all lives in the Midwest.

If the game is called that means Beckett can pitch tomorrow and a potential game 7. That would be huge for the Red Sox. I'm sure Wedge is praying to the gods that the weather is perfect tonight.

Prayers can't save Boston now, Rockies/Tribe WS.

Go Tribe

Open Letter to all those living in Boston/NY: the rest of the country doesn't give a rat's ass about your teams. Thank god we have a chance of seeing someone else, perhaps more interesting play for a title.

LOL.

I live near Boston and holy hell people here are so obsessed and SNOTTY about baseball. My husband is a White Sox fan (roots for the Cubs too) and last year I got grief for being happy about the White Sox, and of course, he got grief too.

I didn't watch last year's World Series. It didn't interest me, and 20 hours can be better spent elsewhere.

This WS is of interest if only because of the Rockies. Not only is this their first time in the WS, they're the absolute hottest team in baseball, heck they're one of the hottest teams right now in all sports, period.

Yawn at all the closet Yank/Sox fans trying to denigrate any WS when they are not a participant. Not interested, why are you reading and posting in this thread?

I'm a fan of neither, in fact I generally don't watch baseball at all. However when I was flipping through the channels last night I stopped on the Boston/Cleveland game where they were talking about the World Series. It just seems to me that there are a lot of markets that are not going to be watching the World Series given the cities participating.

Yes TBS had very low ratings for a LCS (Rockies vs Diamondbacks) in quite some while (average of 2.8) while the previous low was 6.2. A 2.8 is pretty bad...

Yea, very low but understand that east coast baseball fans just can't stay up past 1am to watch a west coast game even if its a playoff game. I think MLB just did a poor job all around with the playoff times.

I remember when the Mets were in the playoffs in 1999 against Arizona and the games started at 10pm ET which is ridiculous. The Boston/Cleveland game should have started earlier...say..6pm ET? Then start the Colorado/Dbacks game at 9pm ET. I dunno what else they could have done.

While TBS wasn't perfect I must say they did a fine job with their first playoff broadcasts. Clean graphics, no overbearing ads/ditties (I'm looking at you Fox!) and the pre and post game stuff where pretty good with Ernie Johnson, Cal Ripkin, Tony Gwynn..etc. Frank Thomas however wasn't very good as he obviously didn't know a thing about the NL teams. lol Thats why Ron Darling (Mets broadcaster represent!) was added.

Not sure what kind of rating a Cleveland/Rockies WS would have. If the Red Sox are in then the ratings will probably be good since baseball rules in the north east. I'll watch it since I"m a baseball only guy but I don't see big interest in a Cleveland/Rockies series..I do hope I'm wrong! They are good teams and it could be a fun series!

I hope the Indians lose in the world series just so the state of ohio will have lost the NCAA football NC, the NCAA basketball NC, the NBA finals, and the world series all in the same year!
